Wow, today was a LONG day!! GattiTown had a booth at Freedom Fest so I was working out in the heat all afternoon/evening! I have a whole new appreciation for my husband's job and Courtney's job. I don't know how they work outside all the time! I came home exhausted, dehydrated, tired (did I say that already??!), sore, aching feet, and just plain grumpy! I was either ready for an ice cold margarita (none of those available) or a foot massage (hubby wasn't playing that game!)HG helped me set up my tent (THANK GOODNESS). I left my stuff at my tent and then we headed to Mattito's for lunch (so glad Frisco has a Mattito's now!!!). Then around 2pm I came back and started setting up all my goodies. Dave from Abrakadoodle arrived and we continued to set-up as the sun and wind was already causing havoc. We finally got it figured out and the crowd started around 3:30 or so. The event was supposed to be from 4pm-10pm and you at least had to keep your booth open until 9pm, but we didn't wrap up until about 9:30 and we could've stayed longer if we hadn't of run out of almost everything!
All I can say is WOW!! It was hot, sunny, and there were tons of people. I know I passed out over 400 suckers and I don't even know how many coupons. We got a lot of traffic and had a lot of fun! I always love when a kid reads the banner and says "oh, I LOVE GattiTown" or it's "GattiTown, mom we gotta go!" Just makes my day! So I might be complaining a little about the heat, but I met so many great customers and so many newbies to Frisco that didn't know about GattiTown so it's always fun to be the one to introduce them to our fun little haven!
I will say that the firework show at Freedom Fest was awesome. I only watched a little bit as I was dying to pack up and get home, but someday when I've got kiddos to take we'll definitely be there. The display was so awesome that people were even stopped on what little shoulder there is on the tollway to watch! Crazy!!!
