Solar Car Challenge

Thank goodness for google!!! I was making the trek back to Texas after a weekend visit in my hometown of Baxter Springs, KS. Typically the drive south on Hwy 69 is pretty boring, but not today! I saw several "interesting" cars and was dying to figure out what was going on. So as soon as I got home, I jumped online and googled "car event, McAlester OK, July 13, 2008" and I found the Solar Car Challenge! Sure enough these were what I was seeing flying down the road. Not too sure that I saw this particular one, but several like it. Funny thing is it started in Plano today, will go to Neosho, MO (near my hometown) and will end up in Calgary, AB on July 22nd. Seems like a really long challenge!

Here's what the website says:
The 2008 North American Solar Challenge (NASC2008) is a competition to design, build, and drive solar-powered cars in a cross-country time/distance rally event. Teams compete in a 2400 mile drive from Dallas, Texas to Calgary, Alberta.

Hey there! We have to drive through McAlester to get to Chris's hometown. Have you ever stopped at Kreb's for Italian food?
