13 weeks and counting...

I'm starting to plan my maternity leave at work which means I really need to think about what's coming up so I can share this with Josephine (my back up while I'm out). So I pull out the calendar and realize that April will be here before I know it! So then I decided to actually do the math and see how much longer I have to go. Holy Cow!!! It was a bit of a wake-up call. April 16th is 37 weeks (my goal and only 13 weeks away). April 9th is 36 weeks (my doctor's goal and only 12 weeks away). Now, when we say goal that's our bare minimum and if we go longer...even better!!! However, lots of twins like to make their presence known between 34-35 weeks which is as early as March 26th. YIKES!!! I never really considered March as an option.

Needless to say, it's all starting to feel a little more real and not so far away. We've been working on the nursery and should have it completed within the next week or so. It's very simple and not at all what I thought it would be initially, but I love it. I find it very peaceful which I guess is good because once the babies get here I'm sure the peaceful part will be out the window. Courtney came up with a great idea for the wall art and I can't wait for us to finish it so I can see it on the wall. I'm not very good at visualizing the finished product, but I love all the pieces so I'm dying to see how it turns out.

HG's office had a shower for us last week which was so sweet! His office is small (about 10 people and mostly guys) so it was funny to hear their stories about enduring Babies R Us, first-time visits to BRU, and a few even sent one of the girls in the office to pick out their gifts...no BRU for them!!!!

As we hang up the cute little clothes and prepare the nursery, it's hard to imagine that our children will be wearing these adorable little outfits and that it's our turn to try our hand at parenting!

Ahhhh, maternity leave! I long for the days. Not that it's easier than working, but it's a change of pace and I'm considering having another baby to get the 3 months off work again. 3 kids under 3 would be easier right? ;) Can't wait to see photos of the nursery.
