Spring Break - Day Two!
HG went to pick up Grandma at the airport and came home with Grandma and Aunt Heather. Heather was supposed to be a surprise visitor, but there were a few clues left along the way so we figured she was showing up too! We had a full house, but it was definitely a fun weekend!
First stop was Safety Town. It's really pretty impressive. We took a tour of the facility which includes getting to see/climb through a real fire truck, checking out all the equipment they use, touring the model home that they use for tornado & fire safety, and of course traveling through Safety Town. It's a miniature town (complete with Wal-mart, WFAA, a church, restaurant, etc.) and you can either drive the motorized jeeps or ride a bicycle through the town. There are arrows on the road so you know which direction to go (there are one-way streets), there are stoplights (that they must obey), and even a toll booth.
After Safety Town we had lunch at Pei Wei (yum) and I ran into a friend from college. I haven't seen her since I graduated and had no idea that she lives in the area. For my OSU friends, I ran into Ginger Barnes (she's married now, but didn't catch her married name).
Then it was on to the Aquarium. This place was PACKED!! It was so busy that it really wasn't that enjoyable. I definitely want to take the kids back this summer so they can enjoy it as much as I have in the past. I've heard that the Aquarium & Six Flags both had record breaking days this year. I really don't think anyone left for Spring Break.
After our long day, we spent a lazy evening at home watching Enchanted. . .can you tell the kids ruled this week??!!
