During the 20th week, I went to my OB for an appointment and the babies looked good and each weighed 12 oz. I couldn't believe it 3/4 pound. Then the doctor said would you like to know the sex (obviously he and the specialist don't talk much) and I said sure I'd like to see if you and Dr. Gore agree. Well, Baby A' s a boy...yep, that's what Dr. Gore said and "well, did he say two boys?" Are you freaking kidding me???!!! We've gone from two girls, to boy/girl, to two boys???!!! I said nope, he says it's a boy and a girl and I have to be honest I have to agree with him. I say this for multiple reasons...1) I've always thought my family would include a boy and a girl (probably because that's how I was raised) 2) I only saw one penis last time and 3) Dr. Gore has the super sonogram machine and I couldn't even tell what my OB was looking at!
So at my 20 week appt, my doc finally admits that maybe it's a girl, but we'll get a better look in 2 weeks as I'm now officially going every 2 weeks. After my appt, I called HG laughing. I said you're never going to believe what Dr. Payne thinks. I honestly wasn't too worried about it because I really felt it was a boy/girl, but there was definitely a part of me that was worried especially because we have gotten such CUTE stuff and several monogrammed outfits, etc.
Well, today was my appointment with the specialist. Today was the first time, that I thoroughly enjoyed my appointment with him. He was funny and very encouraging which is nice as the babies grow and my belly grows and my body is starting to have a mind of it's own! So Dr. Gore starts the appt and says you know the sex so we'll skip that and I'm like wait "Dr. Payne doesn't agree so I'd really like confirmation". It was hilarious, Dr. Gore was like uh oh, I don't like to disagree with my colleagues, but you're having a boy and a girl!!! WOO-HOO!!!! He showed me Kennedy first and labeled all her body parts and then we looked at Hudson and it's quite obvious that he has a penis and she doesn't...I was so relieved!! I'm not saying that I wouldn't love the children that God blesses us with, but I'll be honest I really want one of each!!!
Hudson (Baby A) weighs 1lb, 3 oz. Kennedy (Baby B) weighs 1 lb, 2 oz. Initially, they said my due date was May 7th, but he's convinced that it's May 3rd and the babies are growing right on schedule. My cervix is long and closed which is a good thing. No signs of pre-term labor (at least not this early which is great). He ended our appointment with "keep doing whatever you're doing because everything looks great". That was so awesome to hear. We're just so happy that they are healthy and growing on schedule.
