Our last Christmas...as a family of two!

We stayed home this year, but thankfully HG's mom and sister flew in from Colorado to spend the holidays with us. Karen (MIL) arrived Tuesday evening so we grabbed some dinner and just hung out that evening. The next morning we started the shopping spree for the twins. Our first stop was Babies R Us where grandma totally spoiled them. She bought their infant carriers, double stroller, and tiny bears for each of them and probably would've bought more if we hadn't needed to pick up Heather at the airport.
Back to the airport we went to get Heather with a quick stop for lunch and more shopping! I thought I had the nursery all figured out even after I got the best news about it being a boy and a girl. I had ordered very simple bedding and had found fun fabric and was putting my MIL to work while she was here for the holidays. She was going to make the curtains and recover the glider for me. Well, a few days before she arrived the bedding arrived and I hated it! Sometimes online shopping doesn't work in my favor! So I began to look online more, look in person, and do you know how hard it is to find coordinating bedding for a boy and a girl...I'm telling ya, if I could sew I'd be rich. I'd create a website for multiples where they can find coordinating bedding at a reasonable price!!!! Anyway, I'll leave that soapbox before I ever get started!

We started out looking for fabric and Karen was going to make the bedding, but many places were closed on Christmas Eve (as they should be) and I was definitely starting to get frustrated. I did extensive research online that evening and on Christmas and decided that I should be able to find something in the sage green family that would work for both of them! Thankfully, I did! I pieced together the bedding and didn't buy a set and I love the way it turned out. It's very simple, but with Courtney's creative ability we're going to spruce the room up with some fun stuff on the walls. So the pics are just the beginning stage and I'll post more once the nursery is all done.
Christmas was great. It was nice and relaxing (I'm sure our last one for years to come!). We even received our first gift from Kennedy & Hudson. I got a little teary-eyed reading the tag...I'm pregnant, what do you expect???!! As you can imagine, Kennedy & Hudson got far more than anyone else and they're not even here yet...can we say spoiled???!!! ;-)

It was a great week and as the belly continues to grow (pics coming soon) we're becoming more and more anxious to meet the twins!

I hope everyone had a blessed and Merry Christmas!

The tag's not too clear, but it says "To: Mom & Dad, From: Kennedy & Hudson"

Oh yes, I do love what you and your MIL did with the colors. You would think that would be easy, because it is so cute to be able to pick for both genders with multiples. Can't wait to see what you do with the rest of the room!

The room looks great! I hope you had a great visit with Karen and Heather. As I said in my blog post we won't be flying anytime soon with the girls, but I hope B and I can make it down to visit and see the babies and nursery in person.
