It's already been a MONTH!

Kennedy & Hudson turned one month old yesterday and I can't even believe it! This was the fastest month of my life. They are doing absolutely wonderful. They are good eaters, growing well, and becoming better night sleepers. We are having so much fun. Yes, we're exhausted but it's worth every minute of it.

Here's what's happened in a month:

They've grown...

At Birth
Hudson
4 lbs, 7 oz.
17 1/2"

Now (we've finally made it on the charts)
7 lbs (5-10%)
19.5" (10%)

Kennedy
4 lbs, 5 oz.
17 3/4"

6 lbs, 6 oz. (3-5%)
19" (5-10%)

Initially, they were sleeping in our room in a crib (they're sharing a crib for now), but this week they moved into their room and everyone is sleeping better! We have no idea what hair color they'll end up with. It was fairly dark at birth, but quickly turned blonde. Recently, it seems like K's hair is getting a little darker...we'll see! Both have dark blue eyes and I'm really hoping they stay blue.

Kennedy is our serious baby. She always looks deep in thought and even furrows her brow. Hudson is lovingly referred to as "monkey boy" thanks to all the noises he makes and his posture during feeding time. He's free entertainment when he's eating. He's so impatient that when he's being burped he's making all kinds of noises and trying to eat your hand since his food has been taken away. I foresee large grocery bills in the future!

They both love to cuddle and Dad & I are happy to oblige! They really enjoy the Baby Papasan chairs which have been a lifesaver. We figured out that the chairs are a great help when it's feeding time and there is only one of us available. Give one a little drink of the bottle followed by the pacifier & put them in the papasan and their content to wait their turn!

We are exhausted, but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. They feed every 3 hours (Hudson is happy to remind you) so it's definitely broken sleep at night, but at least we can get an hour or two between feedings. Even with all the same advice, I'm not doing a very good job of napping during the day, but I'm trying...some days are better than others!

We're still under house arrest (or that's what I call it). Our pediatrician says we should keep them at home until they're at least 2 months old (we were told 3 months in the hospital) so I think we'll go with two. I'm sure it will be tough taking them out and about, but you can only sit at home for so long!

HG goes back to work on Monday and my dear friend Kari will be spending the week with us. I'm so looking forward to her visit, but I know that HG isn't ready to go back to work. He's an amazing dad and is enjoying them so much and lucky for me, he's a TREMENDOUS help!!!!

So that's our month in a nutshell!

Ticey-

They are precious and growing soo good! Bella was 4 months yesterday and I can hardly believe how fast it goes! House arrest is hard but worth it we are just now really mobile with Bella!

Hang in there they eventually sleep all night!

Congratulations! Ticey - they are beautiful and they are growing! That means you are doing everything right, Mama! (But hey, I don't know much!)
I know what you mean about it going fast, it feels like the fastest 4 months ever, but I also can't remember what life was like before, so from that perspective, it feels like forever that we have had Noah.

This last picture should be titled "Meeting of the Minds", looks like a serious conversation they're having!

I remember at 1 month thinking, ok - we're gonna make it!

It is just amazing how quickly it goes by. I can't believe they are already a month old. I haven't forgotten about your box. This is birthday month in our house and mailing stuff has to wait until the next paycheck. You are doing a great job!
