On Monday, the kids had their first trip to the dentist. For years, I've heard great things about Dr. Kelli and I have to agree whole-heartedly. It was an easy visit and the perfect introduction into the world of dentistry for the kids! The office is extremely kid friendly and they have toys throughout the place so lots of distractions and it made the time fly by quickly.
The first visit was a simple one as they don't do an actual cleaning until age 3. They just want to count the teeth, check out the gums, and ensure that proper dental hygiene is taking place. H has all of his teeth and a big mouth that Dr. Kelli was quite pleased with. She said he has a good mouth and might not need braces later in life! woo-hoo!! K on the other hand has a little mouth and her teeth are super close together and will likely need braces one day. She also doesn't have her 2 year molars yet so I guess she's technically not done teething.
They both did great and are on the right track so we don't go back for a year. I thought we'd be going back in 6 months, but she gave us a free pass and said we're good for another year! After that visit, we'll start the regular 6 month check-ups.
